Arden Yoga offers small group classes with a friendly, non-dogmatic vibe that makes clients feel invited and at ease on their mats. Kira’s Professional Background and Experience
While in nursing school Kira worked in a family practice setting and a sub-acute rehabilitation center as a nurse intern and certified nursing assistant. She would then go on after graduating nursing school to work in the same rehabilitation center as its Wound Care Coordinator. Kira worked side by side with other health care professionals including Occupational therapists, Physical Therapists, MDs, NPs, Podiatrists, Social Workers, Dieticians and PAs in the development of plans for patient’s care that would ultimately heal injuries and wounds and help transition patients home. Kira has worked with patients with extensive injuries and physical limitations ranging from hip replacements to amputations. Kira has a deep understanding and knowledge base of how the human body works, heals and moves. Kira has an extensive background in working with vascular, arterial, diabetic, pressure, calciphylaxis and surgical wounds.
Since transitioning from her nursing career and into the path of yoga studio owner, Kira has not only created a successful locally owned small business in her community but has gone on to teach workshops and provide business consulting for other yoga studios and teachers. Since opening Arden Yoga Kira has taught over 1560 yoga classes; this does not include teaching hours in private sessions, business consulting and workshops. For more information on Kira’s group classes and her private yoga sessions please visit “schedule” and “private sessions” tabs on the navigation bar.
Kira was an active competitor of 3-Day Eventing and active member in Pony Club throughout her childhood and into her college years, ultimately training at a national level through the USPC. During her years competing, she experienced numerous injuries to her hips, shoulders, collar bones, and more seriously, she broke her lower back. Through her rehabilitation, Kira was introduced to the healing power of yoga, which later on fulfilled her need for low impact workouts and helped to ease her chronic back pain. Kira’s innate desire to help people naturally led her to want to share her knowledge of the body from her nursing education and first-hand experience of physical limitations and chronic pain through yoga. After completing nursing school, Kira worked as a Certified Wound Care Nurse before leaving to be a stay at home mom. While staying at home with her son, she was able to focus on her own personal yoga practice more and study the teachings and principles of yoga. She began teaching small groups just for fun and the idea for Arden Yoga & Wellness was born. When Kira is not teaching yoga or taking yoga, she enjoys time with her husband Boone and their two children Ory Arden and Willow Era. Kira and her family live in downtown Murfreesboro, TN.
